Joy earned her BA from Michigan State University and her Certified Professional Coach qualifications from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching. She spent the first 20 years of her career quickly climbing the ladder in the tech and consulting industries, while simultaneously battling debilitating cases of Imposter Syndrome and perfectionism. She speaks passionately and from experience about how un-learning these (and other) destructive mental habits can dramatically shift the trajectory of your work and life. Trust is a true superpower. It can foster collaboration and inspire confidence. It can spark movements. Trust can change the trajectory of a career, team, or even an entire business.
But here’s the thing - it’s actually the most under-leveraged leadership quality out there - probably because it's so seriously misunderstood. And it’s time it became a more conscious part of the leadership journey.
This talk will help leaders of all levels identify opportunities for trust, harness its power, and ultimately lead with it.

For any professional or leader who is ready for that next chapter, craving that progression or growth opportunities. Sometimes that craving exists and we don’t know what exactly will satisfy it. Sometimes we know precisely what we want, but don’t know how to get it. What often comes with either type of uncertainty is anxiety, restlessness, worry and overwhelm. Unfortunately, those emotions typically cause MORE uncertainty and lack of clarity. That’s a vicious cycle right there!

Comparative thinking is the ultimate confidence-crusher, opportunity-slayer and innovation-killer. This interactive session is for anyone who has a little (or not-so-little!) voice in their head telling them that they are not measuring up to others, or to a standard that they think is 'right'. It’s time to unlearn the Comparative Narrative that we’ve all been sold. To do that, we’ll examine at what makes this mode of thinking so completely flawed and ineffective, and what it’s costing us. From there, we’ll look at some tried-and-tested, active strategies we can start implementing immediately in order to break free from the comparison habit.
